Privacy Policy

What we store and where

Workouts, exercises, training plans, food logs, meal photos, progress photos, your own exercise and plan photos and videos, body measurements and preferences are stored locally on your iPhone, inside the app's own storage. Deleting the app deletes them. Chicken has no servers and no user accounts, so there is nothing to delete on our side.

Your data is yours to take with you: nothing is exported unless you choose to. Apple Health is the main way (see below); iCloud sync may come in a future version, again only if you turn it on.

What we don't do

• No accounts, no sign-in.
• No analytics or tracking SDKs.
• No advertising.
• No selling or sharing of data with third parties.
• No data leaves your device through Chicken.

Apple Health

If you grant access, Chicken can read your weight, body fat, height, steps, energy burned, water and workout heart rate from Apple Health, and write workouts, body measurements (weight, body fat, waist, lean mass), water and logged nutrition to it. Each of these is a switch you turn on yourself in Preferences. Health data is governed by Apple's Health privacy controls; what Chicken reads from Health stays on the device only.

Network access

Exercise data and animations are bundled inside the app — nothing is downloaded while you browse. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple; we never see payment details. The only outgoing requests Chicken makes are the ones you trigger yourself: if you add a YouTube link to a custom exercise or plan, its thumbnail is fetched from YouTube and the video opens in YouTube or your browser, under their privacy policies; if you import a food by scanning its barcode, that barcode alone is sent to Open Food Facts (a non-profit, open database) to fetch the label values, and the food is then saved on your iPhone — nothing about you travels with it; “Rate Chicken”, “Send feedback” and the reference links open the App Store, Mail or your browser.

Photos and camera

Chicken asks for the camera and your photo library only when you add a picture or a video yourself — a meal photo, a progress photo, a custom food, a plan cover, or the photos and videos you attach to an exercise, a plan or a technique. The app receives just the items you pick, never the rest of your library, and they are saved inside the app's own storage on your iPhone (Preferences shows how much space they take, and Erase all data removes them). Nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Reminders

The workout, water and custom reminders are local notifications scheduled by your iPhone. There is no push server and no notification ever leaves or reaches your device through us; turning them off in Preferences or in iOS Settings stops them entirely.

Children

Chicken is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone.

Chicken is made in Italy by David Jiabiao Zhu, trading as The Real Life Studio, who is the data controller for the purposes of the GDPR. Since Chicken collects nothing, there is no personal data of yours for us to access, correct or erase; everything the app holds is on your iPhone and goes away with the app.
